For the 15th straight year, Phoenix Children’s has earned a spot on the prestigious rankings of U.S. News & World Report. Phoenix Children's Hospital was also ranked the No. 1 children’s hospital in the state, and secured a top-four position in the Southwest region.
What this ranking means
The U.S. News evaluation covers nearly 200 children’s hospitals across the country and is based on a variety of measures, including clinical expertise, patient outcomes, and peer reputation.
Areas of recognized excellence
This year, Phoenix Children’s received national recognition in six pediatric specialties:
Behavioral Health
Cardiology & Heart Surgery
Diabetes & Endocrinology
Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
Nephrology
Neurology & Neurosurgery
Notably, the hospital earned a Top 50 national ranking in Pediatric & Adolescent Behavioral Health—highlighting its proactive approach to mental-health care in young patients.
Expanding capacity and services
Behind the ranking is tangible growth: Phoenix Children’s recently doubled the inpatient bed count at its Arrowhead campus, launched a dedicated critical-care transport service, and was recognized as one of the top 100 healthiest workplaces in America. These investments reflect a broader strategy of scaling access and elevating pediatric services for Arizona and the region.
Why this matters to families
For parents and caregivers seeking specialized pediatric care, the “Best Children’s Hospital” seal from U.S. News is a strong signal of quality and reliability.
With recognition across multiple specialties—including diabetes and endocrinology—the hospital stands out for supporting children with complex, chronic conditions.
Growing capacity and scope mean better access, shorter waits, and expanded support services for children and teens.
